15th C. Poleyns (Knee Armour) – 16 Gauge

Protection of the joints has always been a priority on the battlefield as strikes on this part of the body will effectively incapacitate any warrior. Knees were a priority and this is where one of the first pieces of armour was seen amongst warriors.
Poleyns were widely used among many different types of warrior in the medieval period. Our Poleyns are crafted from 16 gauge steel with adjustable leather straps, making them suitable for most forms of re-enactment. Re-enactors should check with their safety officer before purchase.
