Gorgets were a very effective method of protection for the throat and were some of the only pieces of plate armour to survive into the 17th and 18th centuries. Gorgets were often worn by officers to denote status – a practice that led to more decorative gorgets been worn in the 18^th century.

 Our Officer’s Gorget is the perfect way to complete your 17th C soldier outfit. It is constructed from 16 gauge steel making it great for English Civil War re-enactment. It is a great piece of protective kit for pikemen or officers.  Features a rivet fastening.
